SeniorCitizens (470 x 264)

New Jersey – A 75-year-old resident of a New Jersey senior citizen housing complex is suspected of running a prostitution ring that employed some elderly residents as sex workers, NBC 4 New York has learned.

The suspect, James Parham, 75, was also accused, along with Cheryl Chaney, 66, of allowing residents and visitors to use crack in their apartments, police said.

Both are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a nuisance, and Chaney is also charged with possession of crack cocaine.

In Parham’s case, the nuisance charge relates to allowing prostitution in his apartment and in Chaney’s case, it relates to allowing drug use in hers.

Englewood Police Chief Arthur O’Keefe told NBC 4 New York on Tuesday that Parham ran the prostitution ring through his apartments, and employed a mix of young women and older residents.

None of the alleged prostitutes were arrested.

O’Keefe says there was also sex and drug use going on in common areas of the complex, and that some seniors were afraid to venture into certain areas because they were afraid for their lives.

He was taken into custody at his home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, and transported to the Polk County Jail.

According to the investigaiton (see attached warrant for full details) around 11:10 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Sisco was traveling east in his pickup truck, going the wrong way in the westbound lane of SR 60 just east of Boy Scout Road, when he struck a westbound PT Cruiser being driven by 47-year-old Felix Rosa.

As a result of the collision. Felix Rosa was severely injured, and two of Felix’s passengers — his father, 70-year-old Felix Rosa, and his mother, 70-year-old Anna Rosa — were both killed.

Results of a blood analysis conducted by FDLE were returned to PCSO, and showed that at the time of the crash, Sisco was impaired and had Xanax and alcohol in his system.

Sisco will remain in the Polk County Jail on no bond until a first appearance hearing tomorrow.

“Our traffic deputies are extremely diligent in their investigations of traffic fatalities. They take every precaution to see all the i’s are dotted and all the t’s are crossed, and to ensure that criminals are brought to justice. Although Michael Sisco’s arrest can’t bring back these two beloved family members, it is our hope that the Rosa family will have some closure with the knowledge that the man who caused this tragedy is behind bars and has been appropriately charged.” – Sheriff Grady Judd

LWMC Nurse of The Year Tina Sackett

Lake Wales, FL – Tina Sackett, R.N. in the Intensive Care Unit, was honored as Lake Wales Medical Center’s Patient Choice Award Nurse of the Year.
The Patient Choice Award recognizes the quality care, comfort and compassion offered by the nurses at LWMC. As part of the hospital’s celebration of National Nurses Week and National Hospital Week, Sackett’s award was announced during an employee cookout luncheon on May 10.

LWMC asks former patients to submit nominations for the award via the hospital Web site. Many of the hospital’s nurses received nominations from former patients and family members who were touched by the level of care and compassion they received from LWMC nurses. But the nominations for Sackett really stood out, according to Lee Clack, Chief Nursing Officer.

One of the nominations Sackett received said, “Tina was the nurse for my mom in ICU. She gave her attention as if she were her only patient. Tina was not just concerned about my mom, but she also talked to me and my family about her condition and helped us to understand how sick she was. She also counseled us and was very caring, understanding, and sympathetic. Tina knew how hard it was for a family to face someone going through the death process, and she made it so much easier. Never was she short with us; she just showed so much love and attention to the family. Tina, my family will never forget your kindness.”

On Thursday, May 15, 2013, PCSO Computer Crimes detectives additionally charged Polk County Jail inmate 29-year-old Brian Craft with multiple charges after their investigation into his possession of child porn revealed he molested two young girls he had access to, and created images of the molestation.

According to the affidavit, two young girls, who are 6 and 9 years old presently but were 5 and 7 years old in 2011 when the crimes occurred, recently disclosed to detectives and child protection investigators that Craft had inappropriately touched them on different occasions when they were left in his care.

During a forensic examination of Craft’s computers after they were seized in March 2013, detectives located images that he created of the two victims while he was inappropriately touching them.
Brian Craft has been additionally charged with: two counts Sexual Battery By Person Over 18 On Victim Under 12 (F-Capital); two counts Lewd and Lascivious Molestation (F-1); two counts Promotion of Sexual Performance By A Child (F-2); and 10 counts Possession of Images Depicting Child Having Sex (F-2).

“Brian Craft, and his brother Thomas, are very sick individuals. They are the reason we conduct such thorough investigations on anyone who possess or distributes child pornography. Unfortunately, Brian wasn’t just downloading images off the Internet and victimizing children in that manner. He also physically and psychologically damaged two very innocent, very young children who were in his care. He belongs behind bars for the rest of his life.” – Sheriff Grady Judd

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – NFL player Evan Mathis went viral yesterday after he posted a picture of himself supposedly urinating on an IRS building sign. While normally this would be something many American’s would want to do anyway it has gotten more steam after the recent IRS scandle. According to the reports the IRS admitted Friday, that it targeted nonprofit political advocacy groups with the terms “tea party” or “patriot” in their names. That prompted widespread denunciations of the agency for political bias, culminating Monday with President Obama calling the conduct “outrageous.”

Eagles offensive lineman Evan Mathis obviously doesn’t like it.  Unlike most if not all Americans, Mathis has opted to make his views known, in an entertaining way. Mathis posted the picture on his Instagram page.

What do you think of the latest IRS scandal?

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. – State officials say testing done at the Quabbin Reservoir showed no abnormalities after seven people were seen at a reservoir park entrance late at night.

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority said Wednesday that water quality samples all came back normal after the alleged trespassing incident.

The central Massachusetts reservoir supplies drinking water to Boston.

State Police spokesman David Procopio says Tuesday night that a trooper saw two cars parked at a reservoir park entrance at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, then saw five young men and two young women walking toward them from the reservoir.

Procopio said they are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Singapore with addresses in Amherst, Cambridge, Sunderland and Northampton, and New York City. He said law enforcement databases show no warrants, detainers or advisories on them.

The men told police they are recently graduated chemical engineers curious about the reservoir. The students were from UMass Amherst and Smith College.

The trooper determined the people were trespassing and in violation of the no trespassing law and requested backup. Officers arrived on scene and checked the cars, park area, and the people and did not find any items out of place or of criminal nature.

WHHS Student Arrested For Bullying

Bullying (470 x 280)

WINTER HAVEN – A Winter Haven teen, who is no stranger to the Juvenile Justice System and currently on felony probation, has been arrested at Winter Haven High School after incidents of bullying led to robbery.
On 5-16-13 at approximately 9:15 a.m., the victim approached the School Resource Officer (SRO) after an incident occurred earlier in the day involving Marcus Allen Holland (DOB 7-24-96, 107 17 St., NE, Winter Haven). Holland approached the victim (both students at the school) and told him to “give up his wallet.” The victim told Holland that he didn’t have his wallet with him, but Holland forced the issue by “patting down” the victim, finding the wallet in his pocket. The victim started walking away, but Holland continued following him, ultimately chasing him through the hallways coming close to tackling the victim. Ultimately, the victim was able to break away from Holland and immediately went to the SRO.
The victim then advised the SRO that incidents had occurred as far back as February 2013, when Holland cornered the victim in a Winter Haven High School restroom and removed money from his pocket. The victim chose not to report the incident to the SRO, and Holland continued to harass the victim consistently.
During an interview, Holland stated to Detectives that he was “not robbing” the victim, but rather demanding money that was “coming to him” for providing the victim with protection from other bullies in the school. The claim was denied by the victim as the victim advised the only person who ever forced him to give up his wallet and money was Holland.
“This kid has had an up-close and personal relationship with the Juvenile Justice System over his 16 years,” said Chief Gary Hester. “This is a case of true bullying where this victim was harassed, robbed and threatened over the course of months. Bullying cases like this are not taken lightly and we will do everything we can to make sure Holland gets the full attention of the justice system that he deserves.” Holland’s latest encounter in the system was March of this year when he was charged with Felony Violation of Probation from a Felony Theft charge in December 2012.
Holland was charged with Attempted Robbery (F-2) and Violation of Felony Probation and booked into the Polk County Juvenile Assessment Center.
